Kathleen Freeman 1923-2001
TV Guide December 29, 2001 - January 4, 2002 Page 28 We might not have known the name, but we sure knew that hilarious, elastic face. A true supporting actress, Freeman was Jerry Lewis's easily befuddled foil in 10 movies. On TV, she had roles on The Beverly Hillbillies, Hogan's Heroes and LOtsa Luck. She was a crowd-pleaser to the end: At the time of her death-at-78-Freeman was starring on Broadway in "The Full Monty," a gig that won her a Tony nomination. What a consummate comedian! Kathleen had a love for her work, a joie de vivre that was just amazing. When we'd get ready to rehearse, she'd rub her hands with delilght as she walked toward the center of the stage. Then she'd invent some delicious but and say, "You like?" And I'd say, "Yeah, me like!" She was like a kid, but a kid who was solid as a rock, a kid you could always rely on. - Lotsa Luck star Dom DeLuise. Click on the image to see a larger version.
