Dear Mr. Askin,

Thank you for all the great memories from my youth with Hogan's Heroes. You've brought much joy to many people. It's great to hear that you are still active. A warm, heartfelt happy birthday to you.

Gregg Sibille

Hi Leon,

My husband Stephen and I would love to wish you the best. Thank you for the happy memories we have of Hogan's Heroes. Your character opened up the show to a new level of comedy and enjoyment.

Regards,

Theresa Verhaalen

Mr. Askin,

I would like to wish you a wonderful birthday. I have thoroughly enjoyed your acting as General Burkhalter on Hogan's Heroes since I was a very young boy. Now I have two sons ages 10 and 6, and I am introducing them to your show. We often watch you on an episode as we eat our lunches as we did today.

Thank you for bringing some humor and enjoyment into our lives.

Best Wishes,
T. J., Joel, and John Betts

I`m writing from San José, COSTA RICA, and on behalf the the thousands (trust me) and thousands of Hogan`s Heroes fans down here, I want to express my gratitude to Mr. Askin for having given us one of the funniest TV characters ever. We recently had the chance to watch again many of those episodes on one of our national TV networks, translated into Spanish, and I finally was able to tape as many as I could.

Have a great birthday, Mr. Askin.

We love you.

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS.

Dear Mr. Askin,

Leon Askin,

Having checked out your website I realize that Hogan's Heroes was only
a small part of a very long and impressive career, but I cannot begin to
tell you how much joy and happiness that show has brought me over the
years. Many of the episodes in which you appeared as Gen Burkhalter are
among my favorites.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Birthday and
many happy returns.

To Leon Askin,

Happy Birthday to the actor who played my favorite character on Hogan's Heroes.

I wish that on your birthday you exclaim: "I haven't had this much fun since the day we marched into Russia!"

Best wishes and good health to you.

I JUST VIEWED AN EPISODE OF HOGANS HERO'S AND LOOKED UP YOUR NAME TO SEE IF YOU WERE STILL ALIVE. I KNOW SEVERAL OTHER CAST MEMBERS HAVE DIED.

GOOD TO KNOW YOU ARE STILL WITH US.

DO YOU WATCH ANY REPEATS OF HOGANS HERO'S AND THINK BACK TO THOSE TIMES.

Dear Mr. Askin:

I would like to wish you a very Happy Birthday upon reaching the incredible age of 95! My warmest congratulations go out to you for your recent honors in Vienna which you so richly deserve! I have just recently purchased and read your wonderful book "Quietude and Quest," which I found to be a thoroughly entertaining account of your life in the 20th century. I have learned so much about theater and film that I never thought possible. I was also greatly enriched by reading your memories of your personal triumphs and tragedies before, during, and after the Second World War. Thank you for sharing your story with us. You are one of my favorite "protagonists!"

I wish you continued success and happiness in your life and career!
